Dabei handelt es sich um ges\u00e4ttigte Fetts\u00e4uren mit 6, 8, 10 oder 12 Kohlenstoffatomen, die in einer aktivierten freien Fetts\u00e4ureform vorliegen, d. h. sie sind nicht an ein Glycerin-Grundger\u00fcst gebunden wie bei Mono- oder Triglyceriden. Die mikrobielle Empfindlichkeit wird haupts\u00e4chlich durch die Zellwandstrukturen der Mikroben bestimmt. Ciliatische Protozoen und Archaea sind am meisten betroffen, aber auch grampositive Bakterien sind anf\u00e4llig. MCFA sind in der Tat kleine Molek\u00fcle, die sich in der Lipidschicht der Zellmembran aufl\u00f6sen k\u00f6nnen, was zu deren physischer Zerst\u00f6rung und zum Zelltod f\u00fchrt (Yanza et al., 2020). \u00c4hnlich wie Ionophore wie Monensin k\u00f6nnen MCFA eine Verlagerung zu weniger zellulolytischen Bakterien bewirken, was zu einer h\u00f6heren Propionatproduktion und damit zu einer besseren Futterverwertung f\u00fchrt. Eigene Untersuchungen haben eine positive Wirkung auf die Futter- und Stickstoffeffizienz (Alvarado et al., 2020; De Smet et al., 2009) und das Potenzial zur Verringerung der CH4-Emissionen (Castro-Montoya et al., 2012; Goel et al., 2009) gezeigt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.agrimprove.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/AromabioticCattle_figure2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18494\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Abbildung 2: MCFA beeinflusst die mikrobielle Population im Pansen&nbsp;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Erleichterung Verbesserung der Darmgesundheit<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>MCFA gelangen h\u00f6chstwahrscheinlich durch Absorption durch die Pansenwand direkt in den Blutkreislauf, aber einige k\u00f6nnten auch in den unteren Darmtrakt flie\u00dfen (Reveneau et al., 2012). Selbst aus dem Labmagen mit niedrigem pH-Wert k\u00f6nnen MCFA ihre direkte antibakterielle Wirkung entfalten, indem sie Krankheitserreger abt\u00f6ten (Abbildung 3). Zweitens k\u00f6nnen MCFA die Expression von Virulenzgenen von bakteriellen Krankheitserregern reduzieren. Forschungen in Zusammenarbeit mit der Universit\u00e4t Gent haben gezeigt, dass MCFA die Lebensdauer von Neutrophilen verl\u00e4ngern k\u00f6nnen (Piepers &amp; De Vliegher, 2013), vermutlich durch die Vermittlung von G-gekoppelten Rezeptoren an den Membranen von Immunzellen (Agrawal et al., 2017). Diese wei\u00dfen Blutk\u00f6rperchen bleiben l\u00e4nger aktiv und ben\u00f6tigen weniger Energie, um eine \u00e4hnliche Immunreaktion gegen pathogene Infektionen auszul\u00f6sen. Tats\u00e4chlich ben\u00f6tigen Infektionen und Entz\u00fcndungen enorme Mengen an Energie. Eine aktivierte Immunantwort verbraucht innerhalb eines halben Tages &gt; 1 kg Glukose (Kvidera et al., 2017). Durch die St\u00e4rkung des Immunsystems verhindern die MCFA von <a href=\"https:\/\/www.agrimprove.com\/de\/produkt\/aromabiotic-cattle\/\">Aromabiotic<sup>\u00ae<\/sup>Cattle<\/a> \u00fcberm\u00e4\u00dfige Energieverluste (Abbildung 4). Eine wirksame Immunantwort f\u00fchrt auch zu einer geringeren Anzahl somatischer Zellen, was eine verbesserte Eutergesundheit und Milchqualit\u00e4t bedeutet. Dies zeigt sich vor allem in schwierigen Phasen wie der fr\u00fchen Laktation (Piepers &amp; De Vliegher, 2013; Souza et al., 2016a).
