Esas disfunciones pueden afectar cerdos individuales, pero tambi\u00e9n pueden ser un problema de la granja. Cualquier regi\u00f3n del sistema reproductor de los cerdos puede estar involucrada, siendo que el \u00fatero y los ovarios son los \u00f3rganos que suelen ser afectados con m\u00e1s frecuencia. Ya sabemos que diversos microorganismos y toxinas pueden causar problemas reproductores en las cerdas. Ellas pueden formarse antes de la cosecha, durante el almacenamiento o, peor, en la alimentaci\u00f3n. El problema m\u00e1s grave es la intoxicaci\u00f3n, lo que puede ocurrir gradualmente, cuando los cerdos ingieren peque\u00f1as cantidades de toxina, pero durante un per\u00edodo prolongado de tiempo. Ellas afectan la salud de los animales, lo que puede manifestarse a trav\u00e9s de la reducci\u00f3n de su \u00edndice de crecimiento y de su eficiencia de producci\u00f3n y reproducci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Dos micotoxinas son conocidas por afectar el sistema reproductor: la zearalenona y el ergot. La zearalenona (ZEA) es producida por la especie Fusarium. La ZEA y sus metabolitos, \u03b1 y \u03b2-zearalenol son micoestr\u00f3genos que interfieren en la se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n de estr\u00f3geno. Los cerdos son la especie animal m\u00e1s sensible a la zearalenona (Hagler et al., 2001). La zearalenona es estrog\u00e9nica y concentrase en el sistema urogenital. El hiperestrogenismo en cerdas puede manifestarse a trav\u00e9s de la hinchaz\u00f3n de la vulva (Fig. 1) y por el aumento de las gl\u00e1ndulas mamarias, en especial en lechonas. La concentraci\u00f3n diet\u00e9tica de 1 ppm de zearalenona o m\u00e1s puede generar hiperestrogenismo en cerdos (Kurtz y Mirocha, 1978). La zearalenona viene siendo asociada con la feminizaci\u00f3n de cerdos machos j\u00f3venes, incluyendo en atrofia testicular, prepucio hinchado y aumento de las gl\u00e1ndulas mamarias (ginecomast\u00eda) (Fig. 2). En casos graves, es posible observar prolapso rectal y vaginal (Fig. 3). Otros efectos relacionados con altas concentraciones incluyen anestro, ninfoman\u00eda y pseudoembarazo. Fue relatado que altas concentraciones de zearalenona (50 a 100 ppm) en la dieta de cerdos afectan el ciclo, la concepci\u00f3n, la ovulaci\u00f3n y la implantaci\u00f3n de manera adversa. La membrana de la placenta y el desarrollo del feto tambi\u00e9n pueden ser perjudicados, resultando en camadas menores y en la viabilidad reducida de neonatales (Chang et al., 1979; Miller et al., 1973; Sundloff y Strickland 1986). La zearalenona causa muerte embrionaria, aborto (Fig. 4), inhibici\u00f3n del desarrollo del feto y en n\u00fameros menores de fetos presentes en cerdos expuestos. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Lechones<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Los lechones de cerdas que han recibido zearalenona pueden tener el aumento de los genitales externos y \u00fateros. La zearalenona y sus metabolitos, \u03b1 y \u03b2-zearalenol, est\u00e1n presentes en la leche de cerdas expuestas y pueden contribuir para el surgimiento de efectos estrog\u00e9nicos en los lechones (Palyusik\u202fet al., 1980; Dacasto\u202fet al.,\u202f1995) (Fig. 5). Fue relatado un aumento de la incidencia de pernas separadas y de lechones temblando (Fig. 6). Lesiones de hiperestrogenismo incluyen el aumento del ovario y del \u00fatero (hidrometra) (Fig. 7), quistes en el ovario, proliferaci\u00f3n glandular del endometrio y proliferaci\u00f3n epitelial en la vagina (Vanyi\u202fet al.,\u202f1994). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Conclusiones<\/strong>&nbsp; <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Las micotoxinas pueden afectar grandemente la reproducci\u00f3n de las cerdas. Es importante considerar la presencia de micotoxinas cuando ninguna respuesta es observada a cualquier tratamiento en el caso de problemas reproductivos en cerdos. El uso de un aglutinante de micotoxinas eficaz (Myco-ad \/ Vitafix) con protecci\u00f3n in vivo comprobada de los \u00f3rganos objetivo es recomendado para proteger los animales contra los efectos negativos de las micotoxinas. La patolog\u00eda ofrece una herramienta valiosa para el diagn\u00f3stico diferencial y para la evaluaci\u00f3n de la eficacia de cualquier aglutinante de micotoxina utilizado. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure
